Product Design Vs. Interior Design and Graphic Design
Design industry develops quickly. Product Design, industrial design, Interior Design and Graphic Design are becoming more and more speciallized. in my opinion, Product Design :the design of items we use everyday, it’s very vast really – designing furniture, appliances, phones, cars, could be anything even designing something like a cigarette lighter. A product design engineer creates 3d models and builds things and solves complex design issues. They are generally very handy and intelligent people who love what they do.
Interior Design deals with the look of spaces inside a building/house: designing a wall that divides a big room, creating special lighting effects. An interior designer designs spaces by painting surfaces, updating furniture, changing curtains, accents, plants, decor, etc. So basically you decorate people’s houses but there’s a lot more work to it than it sounds. In a decent size city, they generally make a median-lower income.
Graphic Design will designing images like posters, advertisments, websites, etc. A graphic designer designs everything around you. All advertisements and even the web page that you are viewing now was designed by a graphic/web designer. Works include: Posters, Logos, Stationery, Vehicle Graphics, Magazine Ads, Flyers, Web Pages, Billboard Ads, Environmental Graphics, T-Shirts, etc. Designers make on average about $30,000 a year. If you are a senior designer working with the right company you could make $70-90K, but you must be good.
